W.A. Mozart Group:  Book 1 ~ 1:00pm

This class, designed for the youngest beginners, introduces students to modes and intervals through solfège singing, dynamics, tempos and rhythms through interactive games, and musical composers through short concert videos and stories.  We explore the parts of the Grand Staff and note placement.  Each class finishes with a performance and focuses on listening and giving positive feedback to their peers.

 Oscar Peterson Group:  Book 1/2 ~ 2:oopm

This class continues to acclimate students to different modes and intervals and chord progressions through solfège singing and translating it to notes on the music staff.  We learn to identify musical phrases through group playing, in addition to reinforcing dynamics, tempos and rhythms through interactive games. Students will continue to add to their knowledge of musical composers' lives and music through short concert videos and stories.  We explore the parts of the Grand Staff and note placement.  Each class finishes with a performance and focuses on listening and giving positive feedback to their peers.

Lili Boulanger Group:  Book 2 ~3:00pm

Students will paired up to begin playing duets, preparing for performances at the recitals.  They will learn more about the musical eras of composers and their place within history through short, student led presentations.  Each class will continue to have a performance aspect, deepening the students level of listening and articulating what they hear.

Scott Joplin Group:  Mid Book 2 - Book 3+ ~ 4:00pm

Students will continue to improve their ensemble playing through 4 and 8 hand pieces for performance at the end of the year. They will also continue their exploration of the musical eras of composers and their place within history through student led presentations.   Each class will continue to have a performance aspect, deepening the students level of listening and articulating what they hear.  At this stage, if any student wants to begin Royal Conservatory Exams in theory and playing, we can help them prepare for those.  This class will be slightly longer as everyone's repertoire advances.
